When clear skies are the forecast, I like to enjoy a refreshing, chilled glass of chardonnay or rose on one of Denver’s fine patios. Here are some of my favorite spots:
Bar Dough- I have to be honest. This is probably my favorite restaurant and it's only a stone's throw from my house. James Beard nominated chef Max MacKissock and his partners have created a thoughtful wine list and menu. Plus, a little birdie told me that they will soon be selling their own box wine! Too cool!
Mercantile Dining & Provisions- Chef Alex Seidel has created a lovely eatery in the heart of Denver. While enjoying the bustling atmosphere of this Union Station patio, choose from a nice selection of wines by the glass and starters from one of Denver’s most accomplished chefs.
Infinite Monkey Theorem- This urban winery is located in Denver’s hippest neighborhood, RiNO. They offer tours and tastings throughout the month, but once a month, they offer something special. On the first Friday of every month, they open their courtyard and taproom to a magical combination of art, wine, and community!
Max’s Wine Dive- This newcomer to the Denver scene offers up a varied wine menu and gourmet comfort food. Not only do they serve some killer fried chicken; they will also open any bottle of wine for a by the glass serving as long as two glasses are ordered. I love how dedicated this place is to offering a unique wine sipping experience in the Capital Hill neighborhood.
Avanti Food & Beverage- The best thing about this LoHi favorite is the stunning view from their rooftop patio. I love having a glass of wine here right at dusk. Also, there are so many food options, you can please everyone in your party with ease!
And for those sweltering late summer Colorado evenings that are too hot for a patio, I have a unique suggestion: Grab your favorite, perfectly chilled rose from your storage locker at Wine Storage of Denver and relax in their well-appointed tasting room.
